Find A Way: A Place to Find Inspiration

“When you’re facing big challenges in your life, you can think about Diana Nyad getting attacked by the lethal sting of box jellyfishes. And nearly anything else seems doable in comparison.”

Such words are not to be taken lightly, especially when they come from none other than Hilary Clinton, who turned to Diana Nyad’s book, Find A Way, for inspiration during the 2016 Presidential race.

Nyad, for those who don’t already know, is an American long-distance swimmer who came into the public eye on a number of occasions for feats of endurance that were nothing short of jaw-dropping. In 1975, Nyad swam around Manhattan, an impressive 28 mi or 45 km. Not content with what was already an impressive accomplishment, in 1979 Nyad swam from North Bimini, The Bahamas, to Juno Beach, Florida, a staggering 102 mi or 164 km. Last but certainly not least, in 2013, on her fifth attempt and at age 64, Nyad swam from Cuba to Florida without the aid of a shark cage, swimming from Havana to Key West (110 mi or 180 km) and becoming, in the process, the first confirmed person to ever do so.

Find a Way: The Inspiring Story of One Woman's Pursuit of a Lifelong Dream, chronicles Nyad’s account of the inspiring feat, and much more. It’s well worth the read, as Nyad is nothing short of an inspiration.
