What’s Worth Making Time For?

Where did the day go? Between work or school, home and social life, you may sometimes notice that the days just seem to vanish into thin air. But with a full 24 hours in each day, how could that be possible? The answer can often be found in our pockets, with apps like Instagram and Facebook occupying more and more of our precious time. But if we can manage to put our phones down for just a few moments, here are three endeavors worth spending time on, and making time for.

Journaling. A great way to end the day, journaling offers a time for reflection and an opportunity to break down and process the events of the day. It’s a calm and meditative process that offers up many more benefits than status updates ever could.

Exercising. We hear it more and more, most people aren’t getting enough exercise. But rather than being shamed for not doing enough, we should talk about the benefits of doing more. Long term physical health benefits are a good starting point, not to mention more energy and decreased pain day to day, but there’s also better sleep and better overall mood to get us motivated.

Reading. You’ll never regret expanding your mind, and while apps can offer you status updates and pretty pictures, reading can transport you to far off lands you’ve only ever dreamed of exploring.
